I am not sure what I expected this recipe to taste like. Instead of the pork chops tasting like pork chops they tasted like ham. I would have preferred using a Pork Loin/Pork Roast but all I had was pork chops on hand.
It is a easy recipe for the crock pot.
It is free of dairy, egg, peanut, and tree nut. Be sure the food items you use are free of these allergens to ensure your recipe is safe for your loved one by reading all labels and calling the manufacture if needed for how it is produced.
Calorie count: 325 for 1 slice/1 pork chop (based on the food brands I used) Read your labels for accurate calorie counts. Follow package serving size for accurate counting of calories. I measure everything per plate/bowl based on serving sizes listed on all packages/containers to determine calories.
What you need:
5-10 Pork Chops thin cut
or
1 Pork Loin / Pork Roast
1 Pound Thin Cut Bacon
4-5 Apples (peeled and sliced)
Light Brown Sugar
Red Pepper Flakes
Start by lining your pork chops up on their sides all in a row against each other in the crock pot. If using a loin/roast cut 4-5 slits in the roast/loin, do not go all of the way through the roast/loin.
Next take 1 slice of bacon and two apple slices and stick between each pork chop or into each slit on the roast/loin.
Sprinkle Red Pepper Flakes and Pepper over everything in crock pot.
Next, sprinkly about 1/4-1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar over everything in Crock Pot.
Turn Crock Pot on High and cook 7-8 hours or until pork chops / pork loin/roast are fork tender and cooked through.
